Betty R. Miller, 89, of Warren, PA. died Friday morning, June 15, 2012 at the Warren Manor Nursing Home after an extended illness. She was born January 30, 1923 in Fryburg, PA. to the late John and Amanda Shettler Smerkar. Betty has resided in Warren since 1945. She attended St. Michaels Catholic School in Fryburg, PA. and Shippenville High School. She and her husband owned and operated Millers 5 cent – $1.00 store for 15 years. She also assisted her husband in his accounting services. She was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, the church altar rosary society, Tuesday card club, C.C.D. Teacher and helper at the church center. Betty was an avid bowler and card player.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Lloyd S. Miller whom she married June 4, 1947 in Fryburg, PA., 1 Son – Terrance Leo Miller and wife, Lynn of Cincinnati, Ohio, 2 Daughters – Barbara Smith and husband, Ralph of Port St. Lucie, FL, Lori Ann Falkinburg and husband, Patrick of Clarksburg, TN, 2 Sisters – Rita Kiser and husband, Frank of Shippenville, PA., Doris Cherico of Clarion, PA., 1 Brother – William Smerkar of Marble, PA., 2 Grandsons – Christopher and Sean Falkinburg, 2 Step Grandchildren – Paul Smith and Kathy Prybylinski, 3 Step Great Grandchildren – Tristan, Bryce and Paige Prybylinski. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Brothers – Robert and Raymond Smerkar, 3 Sisters – Thelma Thomas, Mildred Strickenberger, Ruth Morocco. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted Monday at 7:45 P.M. Members of the church altar rosary society will recite the parish rosary at the funeral home on Monday at 3:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church at 10:00 A.M. with Msgr. John Lucas, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C.
