Duane Green

Duane Green, 79, of Warren, PA. died after an extended illness, surrounded by his daughter, Debbie & Jim by his side, on Thursday morning, January 10, 2013 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. He was born September 12, 1933 in Warren, PA. to the late John and Georgia Siefert Green. He spent his childhood in Warren and was a 1951 graduate of Warren Area High School and retired to Warren in 1983. He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Army, serving two tours of duty during the Vietnam War serving with the 82nd airborne division as a Black Hawks Helicopter repairman retiring in 1983. He was an avid car buff, especially loved working on and restoring antique cars and helping family members repair and maintain their vehicles.

Duane is survived by his daughter – Debbie Patterson and her husband, Jim of Edmond, OK, 1 Granddaughter – Ambrosia Rollings of Oklahoma City, OK., 2 Sisters – Karleen Castagnino of Warren, PA., Sandra Burgeson of Wilcox, PA., his faithful ad loving companion, his Chihuahua, Skeeter, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 6 siblings – Burdessia Angelos, Raymond Green, Velma Roberts, Lois Pope, Clarence Green, Sarah Jane Pirillo.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 3 to 5 P.M. where a funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital, officiating. Interment will be in the veterans section of Oakland Cemetery where full military honors will be conducted by members of the John Gertsch Vietnam Memorial Post and the U.S. Army.
