Floyd R. Russ, 83, of Warren, PA., died Friday evening, April 10,

2015 at the Warren Manor Nursing Home. He was born June 15,

1931 in Howe Township, Forest County, PA. Floyd was a

longtime Warren area resident. He had served with the U.S.

Navy during the Korean War, serving on the ship known as

Midway. He was employed for 41 years with the former National

Forge Company as a Plumber, retiring in 1993..

Floyd was a Past Commander with the Kinzua Power Squadron,

was a member of the Warren American Legion Post 135, Warren

Eagles Aerie, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, 32nd degree mason

with Joseph Warren Masonic Lodge, Coudersport Consistory,

Warren Shrine Club and the Warren Grotto. He was an avid

boater, fisherman, enjoyed camping, traveling and going on

cruises, where he especially enjoyed salmon fishing in Alaska

with his son-in-law.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Diane Tompkins Russ

whom he married June 13, 1998 in Warren, PA., 1 Daughter –

Cindy Reinsel and husband, Craig of Ft. Mills, S.C., 3

Stepchildren – James M. Horsley of Edwards, CO., Linda C.

Holtby and companion, Christopher Day both of Warren, PA.,

John C. Horsley and wife, Anna of Edwards, CO., 1 Brother –

Ronald Russ and wife, Andrea of Sheffield, PA., 1 Sister –

Florence Barton of Warren, PA., 3 Grandsons – Scott Baker, Bill

Baker and his wife, Courtney, Greg Baker, 4 Step Grandchildren –

Christopher Holtby, Monica, Marissa and Erica Day, 4 Great

Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st

wife, Carolyn Joyce Hanson Russ whom he married November

30, 1952 in Sheffield, PA. who died February 27, 1991, 1 Brother –

Wayne E. Russ, 1 Sister – Janet Hahn.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East Street, Warren, PA., Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.

until 1:00 P.M. when a funeral service will be conducted by Rev.

Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital,

officiating. Full military honors will be conducted at Sheffield

Cemetery by members of the John Gertsch Memorial Vietnam

Post and the U.S. Navy funeral detail. Interment will be in
