Joan Marlene Campbell Berdine, 82, formerly of 914 Conewango Avenue, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015 at the Warren County Rouse Home. She was born in Kane, Pa, Oct. 7, 1932 to parents Leo J. and Adeline L. Weaver Campbell.

Except for her early childhood, she was a lifelong resident of Warren, PA, graduating from Warren High School in 1950. Joan worked in the office of the former Jamesway store in N. Warren and in 1977 she accepted the position of Fiscal Assistant at the Warren State Hospital later becoming Guardian Officer in 1982 and retiring in Dec. 1994 after 17 years of service. She was truly blessed to have had a wonderful circle of friends with whom she enjoyed many hobbies such as golf, bowling and playing cards. She loved to travel and was especially fond of going dancing on Friday and Saturday nights. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose, the American Legion Auxiliary and Eagles Club. Joan is survived by three daughters, Judy Berdine, Jill Fasenmyer (Dan), of Warren and Jani Wendell (Steve) of Youngsville, PA, and one brother, Forest Campbell (Cecilia) of Tucson, AZ. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer Moran (Indianapolis, IN), Jody Fasenmyer (Laurel, MD), Scott Fasenmyer (Leesburg, VA) and Nathan Wendell (Erie, PA), four great grandchildren, Jessica and Joselyn Moran, Paul and Lucy Fasenmyer and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Randall Ray Berdine in August 1984, one brother Bill Campbell in 1954, two sisters, Pat Cady in 2013 and Doris Anderson in 2013 and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family may express their condolences at a memorial service which will be held at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. at 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren County Home, officiating. In accordance with her wishes there will not be viewing hours observed and there will be a private burial at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA. We would be remiss if we did not credit the caring and professional staff of the Rouse Home especially in her final days. Many were like family and she was affectionately known to them as “Joanie B”. Thank you for caring for our Mother when we could not. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends of the Rouse, 701 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville, PA or Women of the Moose, Warren, PA.
