Lloyd H. Reynolds, 83, a resident of Russell, Pa. for the past 8 years, passed from this life, Monday, October 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 14, 1931 in Laurens, South Carolina to John and Alice Price Reynolds.
Lloyd worked for Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark, NJ, for many years. He also had his own consulting business called Lloyd Reynolds Associates Lloyd established, Hendricks House, a halfway house in Vineland, NJ, for chemically dependent men. Hendricks House has since expanded to include three additional recovery houses.
Locally, Lloyd was an active member of St. Joseph Church where he coordinated the lectors. He also helped his wife, Mary by photographing the journey of each RCIA Class. He was a proud member of the Warren Elks Lodge and their Elks Club Band where he enjoyed playing his saxophone at each engagement.
Lloyd enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved telling stories and jokes. At age 79, he bought his first motorcycle. He enjoyed riding it so much he bought a second one two years later. He also loved working in his yard, keeping up with the latest technology, and praying with his wife, Mary at St. Joseph Church.
Lloyd is survived by the love of his life Mary Heldrich Reynolds, whom he has been married to for 33 years. 2 Step Children – Trudi Hoagland of Egg Harbor Twp, N.J., Robert Grossenbacher of FL., 2 Grandchildren – John and Rebecca Hoagland. 3 Siblings – John and Chuck Reynolds and Joyce Palfi all of Vineland, N.J. and his schnauzer, MacHeath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Pauline Tolbert who raised him.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 5:45 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Thursday, October 9, 2014 at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
