Paul L. Sowles, 94, formerly of Pleasantville, PA. died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 8:00 P.M. at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, PA. He was born August 6, 1918 in Grand Valley, PA. to the late Bert and Edith Burleigh Sowles. He had resided most of his entire life in Pleasantville, PA. He was a 1936 graduate of Pleasantville High School. He had served during World War II with the U.S. Navy. Paul was employed with the former Universal Cyclops as a Lab Technician. He had a lifelong interest in Aeronautics, Paul spent many years building and flying RC Model Planes. He is survived by 2 sons – Richard Sowles and wife, Kathy of Russell, PA., Michael Sowles and wife, Jean of Pleasantville, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor McCalmont Sowles whom he married June 4, 1941 in Las Vegas, NV., 1 Brother – Arthur Sowles in 1934. A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville, PA.
