Obituary

Arthur Warr, 95, of Warren, PA. died Wednesday, June 17, 2015

at Warren General Hospital after an illness of the past 3 months.

He was born March 6, 1920 in Sheffield, England to the late Tom

and Doris Holmes Warr. Arthur was a Warren area resident most

of his entire life. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the

U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945, as a Motor Machinist Mate, earning

a Victory Medal and American Campaign Medal. Arthur was

employed with the former National Forge Company as a

machinist retiring after 32 years employment. He had previously

worked at the former Anderson Bakery Company.

He was a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal

Church, Youngsville, Pa. He was a 32nd degree mason with the

Stillwater Masonic Lodge #543, member of the Zem Zem Shrine

Club of Erie, Pa., Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed

gardening, boating, fishing and waterskiing at Chautauqua Lake,

N.Y.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Fladry Warr whom he married

April 12, 2008 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church,

Youngsville, PA., 2 Step Children – Richard Barrett and Linda

Ringer and husband, Leo, 1 Sister – Dorothy A. Krogler all of

Warren, PA., 3 Step Granddaughters, several Step Great

Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his

parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Burnedette Ulah

Baker Warr who died October 30, 1995, 1 Sister – Mary Sergeant, 1

Brother – George Warr.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East Street, Warren, PA. on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 6 to 8 P.M.

where a funeral and committal service will be conducted

Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Marcus Briggs,

Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital. Full military honors

will be conducted by members of the Sheffield/Clarendon V.F.W.

Funeral Detail and U. S. Navy personnel. Interment will be in

Weiler Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials may do so
