Obituary

Catherine R. Ditz, 85, of Warren, PA, went to be with her Lord on July 21, 2026, at Warren General Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born March 6, 1941, in Lucinda, PA. She was the daughter of Anthony and Anna Mary Guth Reisinger.

She was a 1959 graduate of North Clarion High School. After graduation, she moved to Erie for a brief period and then to Warren, PA where she was employed by the New Process Company.

She married Charles Ditz, of Fryburg, PA on September 29, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lucinda, PA. They resided in Warren for a few years before moving to Sheffield, where they raised their family before retiring to Warren.

She began her career with the US Postal Service working part time at the Sheffield Post Office, and then became the Post Master of the Irvine, PA office where she retired after 20 years of service.

She was a member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, and a past member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Sheffield, and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Lucinda. She enjoyed her prayer group with her friends, going out to lunch, and loved her family dearly. Kate and Charlie, as they were affectionately known, loved to travel, play cards, tend to their beautiful gardens and attend all family functions.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. (Denis) Graves of Bradford, PA, and sons, John C. (Jackie) Ditz of Cedar Park, TX, Dale M. (Rosemary) Ditz, and Gary A. Ditz (Christine) both of Warren, PA. Grandchildren, Jessica (Jess) Taylor of Fairview, PA, Anthony Graves and partner (Alyssa Lawry), Northeast, PA, Alan Godwin, Oklahoma City, OK, Michael (Jana) Hanks, and Andrew (Kristy) Hanks, both of Warren, PA, and Nicholas Ditz and fiancé, Caitlyn Donahue, of Elyria, OH. She had 9 great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Meredith, and Drew Hanks, Madison (Bryce) Jache all of Warren. Josie, June and Jeorgia Taylor of Fairview, and Brantley and Rory Kastings of Northeast, PA, and of course her beloved cat, Thomas.

She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ann Whitling of Lucinda, PA and Rita Eisenman, of Tucson, AZ. One brother, Paul (Cindy) Reisinger of Erie, PA. Sister in-laws, Barbara (Dennis) Huffman of Lucinda, PA and Mary Lee O’Connell of Fairport, NY, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband of 61 years, Charles Ditz in 2023. Four brothers, Dennis, Regis, Eugene, and James Reisinger, and one sister, Lucille Reisinger.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday July 28, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am in Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St. Warren, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in the church with the Rev. Mark O’Hern, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, PA.
