David Yeskey, 63, of Youngsville, PA, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

Dave was a hardworking, dedicated family man who loved deeply, laughed often, and had a sense of humor all his own. He was a man of few words—quiet until he wasn’t—and when the opportunity presented itself, he always had a witty comeback ready. If something didn’t make sense, his answer was simply, “Ishkabibble.” Somehow, that was all the explanation anyone needed.

Dave’s greatest love was his wife, Donna. The two of them were true partners and best friends who did just about everything together. Whether they were spending time with family, enjoying the outdoors, or making one of their many trips to Walmart for a pickup, Dave was happiest when Donna was by his side. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.

He was a proud father to Jason (Sally) Morgan, Jessica (Matthew) Ochalek, Bobbi Hagg (Brad Riggin), Daniel Yeskey and Sara Yeskey. But there was a special kind of joy in being Papa to his grandchildren—Haley and Hayden Morgan, Brigid and John Ochalek, Nick Hagg, and Chevelle and Atticus Yeskey. He also held a special place in his heart for nephews Jake and Conner Johnson and niece Megan Johnson, who were loved as grandchildren. Dave loved making memories with all of them, especially out on the trails at Mines and Meadows. Four-wheeling, hunting, being outdoors, camping and simply spending time together, especially family vacations and road trips, were some of his favorite things. His grandchildren knew they could count on Papa for an adventure, a good laugh, and probably a little bit of trouble along the way.

Dave spent 14 years at Cummins before retiring this past spring. He also worked at Blair and Tractor Supply over the years. Wherever Dave worked, he was bound to make friends and connections that stuck. He made a lot of good friends through his years of working, and those friendships meant a lot to him.

Dave was also a devoted sports and NASCAR fan, rooting and shouting every week for and at the Denver Broncos. He had a particular love for Ozzy - Dave never needed an excuse to turn up the volume and enjoy some good old-fashioned rockAnd then there was Rocky. Dave’s beloved dog was more than a pet—he was his faithful companion and best friend. Rocky stayed by Dave’s side until the very end, a beautiful reminder of the loyalty and love they shared.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Russell Yeskey, and mother in law, Jean Johnson. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Becky) Linkerhof Sr, sister, Maria Greener, brothers-in-law Bob, Don, Jeff, Rodney and David, sister-in-law Cindy, and nieces, Jennifer Storey, Barbi Gearhart, April Greener, and Tina Ann Donato; and nephews, Ben Greener, Robert Linkerhof Jr., Jeff Linkerhof, and Tim Linkerhof.

He leaves behind not only memories, but stories—lots and lots of stories. Some will probably get told exactly as they happened, some will get a little better with time, and a few may be best left between the people who were there. Dave lived his life his way. He worked hard, loved his family fiercely, enjoyed the outdoors, made people laugh, and never needed a lot of words to make himself known. He was simply Dave—and to the people who loved him, there will never be another one quite like him. He was a husband, father, papa, brother, friend, and best friend to many—but most of all, he was ours. And he will be loved and missed more than words can say.

Family will receive friends on Sunday September 20, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with Deacon, Matthew Ochalek, his son in law, officiating. Burial will be in Barnes Cemetery, Barnes, PA.
