James M. Lopez, 89, of Warren, PA, died on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at AHN St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA, after an extended illness.

He was born January 8, 1937, in Warren, PA, the son of the late Wenzel James and Emma M. Nitsche Lopez. Jim was a lifelong Warren area resident. He was a 1955 graduate of Warren High School. He had served with the U.S. Air Force for 3 ½ years. Jim had worked with Barnhart- Davis after the service, moving on to G.T.E. Sylvania for 13 years and retired from National Fuel Gas Company where he was a heavy equipment operator for 21 years. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Warren, PA.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Carol Urey Lopez whom he married April 29, 1977, in Warren, PA; two daughters, Carrie Bumbarger of Concord, NC, and Julie Williams and husband, Craig of Florence, SC; stepdaughter, Julie Millard and husband, Mike of Bryson City, NC; 8 grandchildren; 3 great granddaughters; 4 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kenda Freeborough; granddaughter, Kelsi Freeborough; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Seymour, and Jean Baker; and two brothers, David E. and Joseph B. Lopez.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 10, 2026, at 11:00 Am, in St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. W. Warren PA, with the Rev. Richard Tomasone, officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour prior from 10:00am to 11:00 am in the church. Interment will be in Maultby Cemetery, Grand Valley, PA, with full military honors. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through the Women’s Care Center, 203 W. Third Ave. Warren, PA 16365. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
