Jerry R. Bankoske, 78, of Warren, PA, went to his eternal reward from a short illness on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Hamot Medical Center Erie, PA.

He was born the third son of the late Kenneth and Marion (Jenks) Bankoske on June 25, 1947. He was a member of the last class of Wesleyville High School, graduating in 1965. He attended Behrend College of Penn State University and Capitol Campus of Penn State graduating with a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree. He worked at GTE Sylvania in Warren before going into the USAF from Nov. 1970- April 1974. Beginning in 1977, he was employed at Blackstone Corp. (later Valeo) in Jamestown, NY, from which he retired.

After retirement he was later employed as a custodian for the Warren County School District for seven years at Pleasant, Jefferson, and South Street Schools.

He attended the First Church of God, Warren, PA, where he had at one time served on the Trustee Board and presently serving on the Auditing Committee. Attending Whitehall Church Camp was a favorite time each summer, especially when grandsons attended with him and Norma. Jerry was also a member of the Warren/Forest County chapter of PASR, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.

Jerry enjoyed many enjoyable days at hunting camp with, his son, brothers and friends during hunting season; also, going there for picnics with family members during the summer. Playing games with grandchildren was a favorite time for him, as well.

He is survived by his loving family, Norma (Sandell) Bankoske whom he married March 21, 1970, in Wesleyville, PA; two children, Susan (Andy) Teconchuk, Warren, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Bankoske, Biloxi, MS; grandchildren, Tanner and Archie Teconchuk; Brookelynn, Graceyn, and Tobyn Bankoske; also, his fur baby cat, Paisley. Jerry is also survived by brothers, James Bankoske of Powell, Ohio; William (Cathy) Bankoske of Dallastown, PA; sister-in-law, Donna Bankoske of Murrysville, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Walter and Alexa Sandell, brother, John (Jack) Bankoske and sister-in-law, LaVonne Bankoske, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Private funeral services will be held for the immediate family at Oakland Cemetery. At a later date a Memorial Service will be held at the First Church of God, Warren, with Pastor Jacob Babinsack and former pastors participating.
