Obituary

Kathryn "Kitty" Gentz, 92, a resident of Cambridge of Warren,

died there Sunday morning, November 16, 2014 after a brief

illness. She was born September 13, 1922 in Mahanoy City, PA. to

the late John J. and K. Cecelia Klein McAnulty. Kitty was a

Warren area resident since 1972 and formerly of East Brunswick,

N.J. Kitty was a 1940 graduate of West Catholic Girls High

School of Philadelphia, PA. She was employed for 36 years with

the former Bell Telephone Company as an operator and office

clerk, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C.

Church, Women of the Warren Moose Lodge 109, Warren Senior

Center, Bell Telephone Pioneers and an active volunteer with

Warren General Hospital working in the One Day Surgery Ward.

She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and

great granddaughter. In her illness, she accumulated her

extended family members who took care of her and who touched

her life.

Kitty is survived by her 2 children – Karen Gentz of Warren, PA.,

Dr. Edward J. "Ned" Gentz and his wife, Renee of Albuquerque,

N.M., 4 Grandsons – Joseph and Christopher Covino, E. Seamus

and Graham Gentz, 1 Granddaughter – Kelli Covino, 1 Great

Granddaughter – Alasya Luce, and her special pal, Sooty, her

granddaughter's Pomeranian dog.

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her

husband, Edward F. Gentz whom she married August 11, 1945 in

Ardmore, PA., he died May 19, 1999, 1 Sister – Rose M. Coogan, 1

Brother – John "Jack" McAnulty.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304

East Street, Warren, PA on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6 to 8

P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:45 P.M.

Further visitation will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at

Holy Redeemer R.C. Church gathering space from 10:00 A.M.

until 11:00 A.M. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be

conducted by Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating, assisted by

Deacon Joseph Lucia. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of

the Ascension in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Those wishing to

place memorials may do so through Holy Redeemer Church
