Leona M. Washburn, 85, formerly of Clarendon, PA died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the Rouse Warren County Home in Youngsville, PA. Born on May 8, 1928 in Wetmore, McKean County, she was the daughter of the late Burdette and Alma Stenberg Mesler. Leona worked for 25 years with GTE Sylvania in Warren, PA. She enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Surviving are five children, Stephen (Dale) Washburn of Clarksville, TN, Jeffery (Paula) Washburn of Covington, GA, Craig R. (Catherine) Washburn of Johnsonburg, PA, Deborah Lathrop of Warren, PA and Jerry Washburn and his fiancé, Sandra Lowder of High Point, NC, her companion, Clayton Madigan of Youngsville, PA, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Dunn of Sheffield, PA and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Leona was preceded in death by a son, John "Jack" Stuart Washburn, a grandson, Matthew Allen Washburn, a brother, Laurence Mesler and one sister, Beverly Ann Studer. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA with the Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Rouse Warren County Home, officiating.
