Obituary

Mary Ann Kirsch, 87, of Clarendon, PA, died on Monday May 25, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born in Spangler, PA, Cambria County, on August 15, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles Ludwig and Bertha Krumenacker. She was a 1956 graduate of Spangler High School, and she graduated from Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing through Seton Hill as a registered nurse. She has been a Warren area resident since 1967. She was a secretary and school nurse for St. Joseph R.C. School for almost 3 decades.

On December 27, 1961, at St. Nicholas Church, in Nicktown, PA, she married Ted Kirsch, and they spent 59 loving years together before he passed on January 26, 2021. A devout catholic, she was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church. She was an avid gardener, loved bird watching, walking in the woods with her husband, and reading. Her children say “she never met a stranger.

Mary Ann is survived by her loving children, Shawn Kirsch and wife, Gail of Russell, PA, Matthew Kirsch and wife, Donna of Sheffield, PA, Janine Brashear of Duncansville, PA, Jeffrey Kirsch, (Lori Villegas) of Meridian ID, Joelle Steele (Barry Whisner) of Warren, PA, and Christopher Kirsch, Clarendon, PA; four grandchildren; Kyle of Duncansville, PA, Cailin, of Seattle, WA, and Tyler and Kooper, of Meridian, ID; siblings, Monica Ludwig of Carrolltown, Louise Rummel and husband, Earl of Belsano, PA, and Susanna Ludwig of Carrolltown, PA, sister in law, Bonnie Ludwig, Nicktown, PA; many nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to her parents, and her husband, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Charles “Barry” Ludwig.

A time for visitation with friends will be held and announced at a later time. Mass and Burial will be in Nicktown, PA. The Donald E.
