Obituary

Philip R. Howard, 97, of Warren, PA, died on Wednesday July 15, 2026, in the Rouse Warren County Home after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on January 6, 1929, in Villenova, NY, Chautauqua County, the son of the late Clifford and Eva (Hills) Howard. After graduating high school, he served in the United States Air Force. Phil worked with the United States Postal Service for many years in Warren and in Youngsville, retiring as Postmaster. He was a very active member of First Lutheran Church in Warren, where he served on numerous committees. He served on church council and Stewardship committee, served as an assisting minister and an usher, was active in Lutheran Men In Mission, and taught Sunday School. Philip was also a member of the Warren Rotary and the Youngsville Lions Club.

On October 26, 1957, in the First Lutheran Church, he married the former Beverly Jensen and they spent 47 loving years together before she passed away on June 11, 2004.

Philip is survived by his two loving daughters, Donna Trubic and husband, Donald, and Lori Howard all of Warren; two grandchildren, Darren Trubic and his wife, Kristine of Youngsville, and Jacob Trubic and wife, Whitney of Warren; two great grandchildren, Joseph and Luke Trubic; and one niece and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, and his wife, Beverly, Philip was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Estus, and one niece.

Family will receive friends on Monday July 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church, 109 West 3rd Ave. Warren, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the church with the Rev. Tom Pierotti officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, PA.
