Shirley (Littlefield) Schmatz, 90, of Warren, PA, died on Tuesday April 28, 2026, in her home at the Rouse Suites.

She was born in Warren, PA, on August 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Joe and Josephine (Easton) Littlefield. Shirley was a graduate of Warren Area High School and went on to the Ora Jean Beauty Academy in Erie, PA. She was self-employed for over 61 years in the Warren area. Shirley was a member of the Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, and enjoyed hobbies of knitting, bowling and baking but what she enjoyed most was helping to raise her granddaughters.

On September 27, 1957, she married Mr. Edward J. Schmatz in Warren, and they spent 44 loving years together before he passed.

Shirley is survived by one brother, Dennis Littlefield, her children, Barbara (Schmatz) Hoden and husband, Steve of Warren, PA, and James Schmatz of Warren, PA; and grandchildren Alicia Garrett and Allyx Hoden.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward Schmatz and Chester Munksgard.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 2, 2026, at 11:00 am in Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA with the Rev. Mark O’Hern, pastor, officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church gathering space. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Starbrick, PA.
