Thomas G. Nuhfer, 84 years young, passed away Friday, June 2,
2017 at his home in Tiona, PA., surrounded by his family and his
faithful dog, Willis. He was born July 27, 1932 in Warren, PA.,
and was the son of William J. and Katherine Mansfield Nuhfer,
Sr. Tom has resided in Tiona, PA., for the past 61 years. He was
employed for 30 + years, with the former Pittsburgh Demoine
Steel Company as a draftsman and fitter, retiring from there in
1994. He loved to putter in his yard, had a green thumb and
could fix anything that needed done. He loved to spend time
with his family and his dog, Willis.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra "Sandy" J. Winner
Nuhfer whom he married November 29, 1971, his children –
Robert J. Nuhfer and wife, Sherry of Erie, PA., Susan J. Nuhfer of
Sugar Grove, PA., Cynthia L. English and husband, Randy of
Tiona, PA., Brenda A. Zeller and husband, John of Warren, PA.,
Christopher T. Nuhfer and wife, Paula of Pittsfield, PA., Wendy
S. Wilson of Tiona, PA., Steven C. Hoag and wife, Yahaira of New
Mexico, Sandra L. Wallace and husband, Daniel of Leechburg,
PA., Grandchildren – Trisha L. English, Benjamin T. English,
Robbie J. Nuhfer, David Nuhfer, L.J. Zeller, Brandon M. Wilson,
Alexandra J. Wilson, Jackson S. Zeller, Jacinda L. Zeller, Krissy
Nuhfer, Christina M. Wallace, Gregg Wallace, Brad Wallace,
Great Grandchildren – Jaymison P. Hahn, Carson L. Hahn,
Caiden Nuhfer, Stephanie Hoag, Christian Hoag, 3 Brothers –
William J. Nuhfer, Jr. and wife, Doris, Phillip Nuhfer all of
Warren, PA., Lawrence Nuhfer of Irvine, PA., 1 Sister – Martha
Lafferty of Lakewood, CA., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st
wife, Beatrice H. Barner Nuhfer whom he married August 18,
1951 who passed on February 20, 1971, 2 Brothers – Richard P.
Nuhfer and Michael Nuhfer, 2 Sisters – Teresa Sanden and
Delores Anthony.
A private funeral and committal service will be conducted at the
convenience of the family at Sheffield Cemetery by Rev. Dr. Dale
Haight, family friend, officiating. Those wishing to place
